Time to join the best male voice choir in Chepstow!
Chepstow Male Voice Choir is back to regular rehearsals from 7pm to 9 pm on Mondays and Thursdays. We are all enjoying meeting up with both our long standing members and new recruits. These new guys in some cases have already sung with us in concert after relatively short prep time. So well done to them! The Choir is keen that any new recruits get to sing-out in concert as quickly as possible so they can enjoy the buzz of singing in public to appreciative audiences. Rehearsal are Monday and Thursday 7-9pm.
During Covid the Choir used Zoom for singing practice and keeping in touch. We then moved to a semi-outdoor location at the Barracks which brought its own challenges but it meant we were meeting face to face! These solutions kept us in contact and in tune but we were not performing. Finally they settled in St Marys Priory Church and the Cavill Hall and the Choir is most grateful to the Church authorities for making that possible and so productive.
The Dell Primary School which has been our much loved and appreciated rehearsal home for many years is agreat venue. As well as providing a large rehearsal space, it provides plentiful dedicated parking, and a second rehearsal room so the choir can split, particularly useful when learning new items. For those who are not familiar the school is shown on the map.
One of the focuses this coming season is to start the preparation for our participation in the massed Welsh Male Voice Choir Concert in the Royal Albert Hall which although not until 2024 requires the choir to take part in periodic rehearsals of the massed choir in Wales from this autumn onwards. New recruits will be able to take a full part in this unique activity as well as our own programme of concerts, gigs, barmitsvas, social events etc.
Current members and interested parties should come to the Dell School on Mondays and Thursdays from 7pm starting on 5th September!
